About
Founded in 2003, Wal-Tech brings together the 19 accredited research centres operating in Wallonia. Through its Board of Directors, which brings together the directors of the research centres, the association’s objectives are :
- To unite the accredited research centres in Wallonia and develop a common vision and common positions/proposals on all matters related to their operation for the benefit of businesses,
- To act as an intermediary with the Walloon ecosystem for all matters of collective interest and to ensure coherence with the Belgian ecosystem of research centres through a structured framework for discussion with Vloot and Innovaders,
- To strengthen the links/synergies between its members in order to provide a coherent and valuable service offering for Walloon businesses.

Staff
Wal-Tech members have 950 employees in Wallonia (out of a total of 1,460), 85% of whom are scientists and technical experts

Revenue
Wal-Tech members total a global budget of € 210 millions, of which 30% are grants from the public authorities.

Service to industry
Wal-Tech provides services more than 2500 Walloon companies yearly, on a total of 6 400, of which 75% are SMEs
